ACCHS Biology - Week 3

MONDAY, MAY 22, 2017

Here are your blog assignments for this week:

“99.4% of the most critical DNA sites are identical in human and chimp genes”
What do you make of this?

I think that this is interesting. I have found this to be interesting for a long time when I heard about it. I also heard that the DNA of human and other animals are pretty similar as well even though, humans are more identical to chimps.

Although, I'm aware of this information, I'm leary of calling it marco-evolution or that humans came from chimps. I would stop at that, it is interesting at the similarity. I'm also find it interesting that we can still view the chimps at the zoo. If humans did indeed come from chimps or evolved from an chimp-like mammal, how come the chimp is still here? I believe in a Creator that create the universe and created an environment when life can begin and sustain on earth. I believe that human and chimps are mammals but they are different and created separately.

I found this article interesting. Especially, when it stated that if you were a bacteria..
you can have sex, have a propellor system to move but only in two directions, and that at high frequencies and spontaneous mutations, the bacteria can become female.. quite interesting...
